For independent gyms & training studios

Every member's heart rate. One screen on your wall.

Heartstream shows the live heart rate of everyone in your class on a TV, color-coded by effort zone. Members see their effort and push harder. Coaches see the whole room and run better sessions. The big-screen group-training experience — without proprietary straps or per-member fees.

Works with standard chest straps your members may already own — Garmin, Wahoo, and any other ANT+ or Bluetooth sensor.

How it works

Three pieces. No app required.

Members strap on, walk in, and appear on the screen automatically. Updates are instant — the tile changes the moment the heartbeat does.

Step 1

Members wear a chest strap

Any standard heart-rate strap or armband works — the Garmin or Wahoo sensors many members already own, or straps you hand out at the front desk.

Step 2

A small hub picks up the signal

A palm-sized receiver box plugs into a power outlet in your gym. It listens for every strap in the room and matches each one to the member's name, photo, and personal heart-rate zones.

Step 3

Your TV shows the room live

Any TV or screen with a web browser shows the grid: one color-coded tile per member with name, live BPM, and effort zone — readable from across the floor.

Why gyms add it

The screen pays for itself in engagement.

Members

Effort they can see

When your name is on the wall, you don't coast. Members chase their zone, compare effort honestly, and leave knowing they earned the session — the experience that keeps them renewing.

Coaches

The whole room at a glance

One look shows who can push, who needs to recover, and who is quietly redlining. Coaches cue by real effort instead of guessing from faces.

Owners

No lock-in, no per-member fees

No proprietary straps to buy, no subscription per member. Heartstream is open: standard sensors, your hardware, your data.

Built for

Classes where effort is the product.

Intervals & HIIT

Keep work blocks honest

Everyone sees who actually hit the target zone in the work block — and who has more to give in the next round.

Endurance & threshold

Pace the room before fatigue does

Catch members going too hard too early and keep long efforts in the zone where they build fitness instead of burning out.

Mixed-level groups

One class, every fitness level

Zones are personal — 80% effort looks the same on the screen for a beginner and an athlete. Everyone trains together, each at the right intensity.

What you need

If you have a TV and Wi-Fi, you're ready.

A TV or big screen

Any screen with a web browser works — a smart TV, or any TV with a cheap streaming stick or a connected computer.

The Heartstream hub

A small receiver box (a Raspberry Pi with a USB antenna) that we configure for you. Plug it in, connect it to your network, done. One installer covers everything — easy to roll out across multiple locations.

Heart-rate straps

Members bring their own ANT+ or Bluetooth sensors, or you keep a set of straps at the desk as a rentable extra.

FAQ

What gym owners ask first.

Do members need a special strap or membership?

No. Heartstream reads standard ANT+ and Bluetooth heart-rate sensors — the chest straps and armbands sold by Garmin, Wahoo, and other major brands. There is no proprietary strap to buy and no per-member subscription.

What hardware does the gym need?

A TV with a web browser and the Heartstream hub — a small Raspberry Pi receiver with a USB antenna that plugs into a normal outlet. We deliver it pre-configured; setup is plug in, join your network, open the dashboard.

Are there ongoing fees or contracts?

No per-member charges and no closed ecosystem. Heartstream works with sensors members already own, runs on your own hardware, and your member data stays yours.

Does it need internet to run a class?

The dashboard runs on your local network, so live heart rates keep streaming even if the connection blips. Internet is used to sync member profiles, and the system retries gracefully if it drops.

How do members appear on the screen?

Each strap is registered to a member profile once — name, photo, and personal heart-rate zones. From then on, the member just puts the strap on and their tile appears automatically when class starts.
